Podcast – The Alien Adventures of Finn Caspian

I’ve posted about a number of non-fiction science podcasts, but this is the first science fiction podcast that we’ve started listening to.

Finn Caspian is an eight-year old boy who lives aboard the Famous Marlowe 280 Interplanetary Exploratory Space Station. Together with his friends and pet robots, Finn tries to solve the mysteries of the universe, and maybe help some aliens along the way!

This podcast is fun, free, and serialized (so start with episode 1), and aimed at kids aged 5 to 10, or for any budding science fiction lover.

Podcast – The Unexplainable Disappearance of Mars Patel

Got older kids who would enjoy a serialized mystery story? Performed by kids? Check out this award-winning free podcast! It’s about an Indian-American boy named Mars Patel and his misfit band of buddies who go on the hunt for their missing friends. (Stranger Things anyone?)

I can already envision listening to this when my girls are older, maybe as we take a nice long family road trip somewhere. The recommended age is 8 to 12, so we have a few years, but I even enjoyed listening to it by myself!
